Oluwatobi Odukoya is a Multifaceted Entrepreneur – Business Writer, Professional Speaker, and Consulting Manager. She is the Head Designer at Prima Rouge Fashion Label and Creative Lead Content Writer for Lightbulb Creative Consulting Service Limited.
As a social entrepreneur, she is using her work, life, business and educational experience to motivate, equip and empower her audience mentally, materially and spiritually – in becoming all they have the capacity to be. She is also a Creative Content Writer for small businesses and an aspiring Public Speaker and trainer who works with SMEs, Philanthropists and NGOs.
She has previously worked with the Ministry of Defence in the UK ( Defence Communications) and Interned with the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nation under Pesticide Control. Tobi is an International Alumni Ambassador for the University of Nottingham UK Campus. She currently runs a Capacity Development and Training enterprise called The Business Of Purpose.
Tobi, as she is commonly known, runs a mentorship programme through Prima Rouge, where she helps to inspire and build young women and men in different fields of life building their lives and career to fulfil purpose.
She won the Dynamics designer of the year award in 2008 and was shortlisted as the British Councils Young Entrepreneur 2011. Her designs have been featured on runways both locally and internationally.
Tobi took part in the maiden edition of the Africa Fashion Week London as well as Washington DC Fashion week. Her collections have also been showcased in Fiji and The University of Ireland – where they were exhibited in the Arts and Culture department. In addition to this, Tobi has TV presenting experience by working with Slick entertainment to produce the Bargain Hunt fashion series for Spice TV on DSTV. She is also involved in developing program content for potential TV Show called the Designing Change Series.
Furthermore, Tobi is helping build impact and capacity through Emotional Intelligence training and her partnership with The HelpDesk – a Nigerian business development enterprise that targets small businesses in order to build structure and position better for financial support.
Because most successful enterprises are also designed to give back to their communities; she believes that the future trend for doing sustainable business in Africa is the social business venture model.
“I am passionate about seeing people increase; and I am wired to help reprogram minds by removing the poison that adversity and poverty injects into people’s lives; crippling their mental physical and spiritual consciousness; such that they become less other than who they really are” she said.
Tobi is a mother of three and a creative extrovert – who enjoys social gatherings. As a leader and a team player, she is passionate about relationships and loves to learn new things. She also enjoys expressing herself through written word. Fashion makes her smile especially when it’s regal and ornate that is why she loves designing bridal wear. She can contribute immensely to any project because she finds it very enjoyable navigating through hurdles and finding solutions to problems in a creative way. She cares about ethical business and equal opportunities in the work place.
