Excerpts:
How did you become a spoken word artist and storyteller?
I’ve always loved using my words to bless lives, but funny enough, spoken word was never part of my plan. It all started in church. One day, my pastor and mentor encouraged me to audition for a spoken word presentation. I had no idea what I was doing, but out of respect for my leader, I went ahead with it. The audition was a disaster—I didn’t do well at all! But, thank God for the amazing leaders around me. They saw potential in me, guided me, and nurtured my gift. From that moment, it has been a journey of growth, learning, and going from glory to glory.
What were the initial challenges you faced?
Challenges are part of life, and I had my fair share. One of the biggest struggles was finding my unique voice in the midst of so many talented artists. I never wanted to sound like everyone else—I wanted to be different, to stand out. It wasn’t easy, but with God’s help, the support of mentors, and a lot of patience, I was able to discover my own style. And even now, I’m still evolving and refining my craft.
Spoken word and storytelling seem like unique professions that not everyone can do. What does it take to succeed ?
It takes courage! Spoken word isn’t just about being creative, writing beautifully, or having a powerful voice—it’s about believing in God, believing in yourself, and having the boldness to share your truth with the world. You also have to be a learner—open to learning from everyone, everywhere, and in every situation. Never underestimate anyone’s advice. Take what is useful, apply it, and keep growing.
Would you like to share your greatest moment on stage?
For me, every stage is my greatest moment because before I step up, I surrender it all to Jesus. Whether it’s a religious or non-religious gathering, I give it to Him, and He takes over. The most important thing is that people are blessed, inspired, and transformed. So, I cherish every opportunity to perform, and every single stage holds a special place in my heart.
Is this a profession young people should consider, and why?
Absolutely! We need more voices—voices that spread good news, bring positive change, and impact lives. That’s why I’m passionate about mentoring the younger generation, including children. I’ve created a platform to train and guide them, giving them opportunities to grow and develop their own unique voices.
Beyond performing at big events, what else are you doing to inspire the youth?
Apart from spoken word and storytelling, I’m also a writer. I’ve published several books, including: True Love and Sex Worship: A Guide to Sexual Purity, True Love and Sex Worship (children version), Who Are the Real Virgins? and How to Protect Your Children from Monsters Called Pedophiles
These books are available on Amazon and Selar, and they are meant to educate, inspire, and guide people, especially young ones. God also gave me a vision called ROAR (River of Aquafire Realms)—a platform designed to help people discover their purpose and ignite their passion through teachings, prayers, worship, and spoken word. We started in Lagos, expanded to Ibadan, and we are trusting God to take us even further!
You have already made a name for yourself in spoken word. What advice do you have for other young people in the field?
Growth is inevitable! That’s why I’m constantly evolving, and honestly, I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of what God has planned for me. To my fellow spoken word artists and mentees, my advice is simple: Trust God and follow His lead, pursue excellence, find your unique voice and make sure the world hears it, blow your own trumpet—no one will do it for you. Also, seek exposure and keep growing—whatever that means to you, just keep pushing forward!
What is your ultimate dream?
My biggest dream is to die empty—to pour out everything God has deposited in me and become all He has called me to be. Yes, I have plans, but I always submit them to God’s timing and direction. My deepest desire is to bless and transform lives, just as Psalm 19:3-4 says. That’s my watchword, my mission, and my purpose.
Your final words?
This journey has been incredible, and I’m excited about what’s ahead. To everyone out there chasing their dreams—keep pushing, keep growing, and never stop trusting God. The world is waiting for your voice
