Vulnerable children in two African countries — Ghana and Cameroon — will not forget the 2025 Christmas season in a hurry. At a time when many had little or nothing to celebrate, help arrived unexpectedly through the kindness of a woman who has dedicated more than a decade of her life to putting smiles on the faces of African children.
The children were not only clothed; they were also fed. Behind this life-changing initiative is Shammah Hart, founder of Shammah Empowerment Global Health, a humanitarian organisation committed to supporting the less privileged across Africa.
Shammah Hart is a woman driven by compassion and service. Born in Willemstad, Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, she has lived in the Netherlands for over 35 years. Despite residing outside the continent, her heart and efforts remain firmly connected to Africa, where her organisation continues to impact vulnerable communities.

More than a philanthropist, Shammah Hart wears many hats. She is a pastor, counsellor, vitality coach, author, poet, singer, massage therapist and life coach. Through these diverse callings, she has touched countless lives not only in Africa but also in other parts of the world.
One of the communities reached during the 2025 Christmas outreach is Avatime Fume, a small village in Ho West District of the Volta Region, Ghana. Nestled between mountains and known for its resilient climate, the community is connected to Accra in the south, Hohoe in the north and Ho, the Volta Regional capital, in the east.
The chiefs and people of Avatime Fume were overwhelmed when Rev. Randy Noah Qumah, representing Shammah Empowerment Global Health, arrived with two large boxes filled with clothes and shoes, mostly for children. The gesture ensured that many children who would otherwise have had nothing to wear were able to celebrate Christmas with dignity. In gratitude, the community offered prayers for Shammah Hart and her team.
The people of Obuom also in Ghana were not left out. The kids in the community celebrated Christmas with joy as Shammah Empowerment Global Health through Prophet PK Adofo gave them two boxes of various items and food.
A similar story of joy unfolded in Bonakama, in the northern part of Cameroon, where the organisation extended its outreach to the less privileged. Children from poor homes and single mothers who could not afford food or clothing received much-needed support and returned home rejoicing.
It was not only food, clothes and shoes that the organisation gave our last year, it also gave out educational materials to vulnerable children. Shammah Empowerment Global Health worked with Aaron Lordstone on a school project in Kasoa, Ghana.
It was not only in Africa that Shammah Empowerment Global Health touched lives last year; the orgnisation was also in Suriname, South America where
the distribution of food and clothes was anchored by Henk.
Speaking on the impact of the outreach, Prophet Victor Mukete Esapa expressed appreciation while also appealing for further assistance. “While we thank the founder of Shammah Empowerment Global Health for her kind gesture, we call for more support, especially in the provision of food items such as rice and beans, which can be shared among the less privileged who struggle to meet their daily food needs,” he said.
Also, Prophet Azeh Ramsis in Muyuka, Cameroon commended Shammah Empowerment Global Health for supporting the widows and orphans in the community.
Shammah in a telephone interview with Green Savannah Diplomatic Cable expressed gratitude to individuals and organisations in the Netherlands that have been supporting Shammah Empowerment Global Health over the years.
In her words: “I want to express my deepest gratitude to individuals and organisations in the Netherlands that donated most of the items and also supported us in other forms. Without them, we couldn’t have been able to achieve much. They have been very supportive. My team members have also been very fantastic in all ways. The glory goes to God and gratitude to those who have supported us to be able to achieve what we have achieved. I cannot take the credit alone”
Indeed, though not African by birth, Shammah Hart has demonstrated that love, compassion and giving are universal languages. She has reaffirmed her commitment to continue using Shammah Empowerment Global Health as a platform to uplift the less privileged across Africa, proving that humanity knows no borders.
