Uchechukwu Eucheria Otti is a Nigerian Gospel singer and songwriter, who has also been a Nollywood costume designer for 7 years. Her parents out of concern for her education and not wanting her to be exposed to the unpredictable entertainment industry did everything to stop her from taking a career in singing. However, at a point they allowed her to pursue her dream. A very hard working lady, Uchechukwu saved up enough money from part-time job to be able to record her first song titled ‘Mmamma”. According to her, “Mmamma” was given by the Holy Spirit.

Excerpts:
How did you become a Gospel singer?
Singing has always been a part of me. It is a gift I was born with. I started singing in my local church as a child, but officially, my music journey began when I was just 8 years old in primary school. Back then, my Principal and I composed a lot of songs. We even went to the studio to record and ended up creating an album titled Ogbono Soupe under the name Ventures Kids. We also shot a music video for it. That experience sparked something in me, and since then, I have been pushing forward as a gospel singer.
What was the reaction of your friends when you started?
I don’t really keep a lot of friends, but the people around me have always known that I could sing. After my first music video shoot, everything changed. Everyone started seeing me as a celebrity kid because I was the lead vocalist, and some of the songs we performed were even composed by me. It was an exciting time, and people were genuinely happy for me.
How do you get your songs?
My songs come to me in many ways; while in church, during prayers, in dreams, in the shop, in the kitchen, or even while I am on the road. Inspiration can strike at any moment, as long as I tuned in and paying attention to my spirit.
Which of your songs is your favorite?
It is hard to pick a favorite because I love all my songs. Each one carries a unique message, and they all mean something special to me in different ways.
How do you want to see your career in 2025?
My prayer is for the grace of speed to rest on my music ministry. I want my music to be heard all over the world in 2025 because I truly believe in the gift God has given me.
What advice do you have for young ladies like you?
I am a very hardworking person, so my advice to young ladies is that they take charge of your lives and stop depending on anyone to survive, especially guys. Success might take time, but hard work always pays off. Be yourself, stay real, and don’t live a fake life just to impress others. If you are hardworking and fear God, you will succeed in life.
Who are your favorite gospel singers?
Mercy Chinwo and Sinach are my favorites.
Do you have any big dreams?
Yes, I do. My biggest dream is to make the people who look up to me proud
